The 70-year-old cricketer-turned-politician and former Pak PM Imran Khan was arrested by authorities yesterday while entering the Islamabad High Court, where he had arrived to attend two hearings in separate cases.

PTI reported that Imran Khan was undergoing a biometric process when the authorities broke the glass and arrested him after beating lawyers and the security staff.

According to Pak Media Dawn, Inspector General Police Islamabad (IG) Akbar Nasir Khan said Imran Khan had been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case, in which the Former Pak PM and his wife were involved in receiving “billions of rupees from a real estate firm for legalising a laundered amount of Rs 50 billion.”
According to media reports, In Karachi and Rawalpindi, protesters chanted “Release Imran Khan” and “Shut down Pakistan” and clashed with the Police.
The PTI tweeted it’s a “now or never opportunity” and urged its supporters to protest.
